In view of the demands of the people in the constituency, the public grievance redressal camps (Janta Darbar) will no longer be limited to Nangal Kothi alone, but will now also be organized in different areas of the constituency. Last week, a Janta Darbar was held in Sri Anandpur Sahib, and today, under this camp, several villages of Changar are being covered.

Sharing this information, Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister for Education and Information & Public Relations, Punjab, and MLA from Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency, said that people can confidently come forward with their problems and other issues, and as always, efforts are made to resolve most of the issues on the spot.

He informed that the work on Gujar Bhawan will be started soon, which will be developed in a state-of-the-art manner. The complex will include a hall for events, medical facilities, a library for children, playgrounds and parks, so that the entire complex becomes beneficial for the public.

Bains said that the biggest problems of the constituency have been transportation and drinking water. Keeping this in mind, the work of widening 127 kilometers of roads (to 18 feet) is underway, and another 65 kilometers of roads will be started soon. In this way, a network of approximately 200 kilometers of roads is being developed. Along with this, new roads are also being constructed in villages where roads did not exist earlier.

The Cabinet Minister informed that the village link roads (phirnis) of around 50 villages are being strengthened with RCC, especially in flood-affected areas. To promote sports, work is underway on 17 playgrounds, and 33 more playgrounds have already been approved. An amount of at least Rs. 40 to 50 lakh will be spent on each playground.

While talking about the second phase of the ‘War Against Drugs’ campaign, Bains said that it is the collective responsibility of the police, education department, media, NGOs and every section of society to eradicate drugs from the roots. He also emphasized the need for strict action against Chinese kite string (China dor) and appealed to people not to put precious lives at risk for a few minutes of entertainment.

He said that the development works being carried out in the constituency are not limited to paper only, but are clearly visible on the ground, and people will reap major benefits from these in the coming times. He added that there were many remote villages in this constituency where entry was possible only through Himachal Pradesh, and all basic facilities are now being provided in those villages as well.
