Congress, AAP among 7 Political Parties supporting Power Employees against Electricity Bill 2025

The power sector employees got support from 7 political parties at a National Convention Opposing Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2025 at the Constitution Club, New Delhi.

The convention was organized by the National Coordination committee of electricity employees and engineers (NCCOEEE) and participated by 11 members of Parliament from different parties and 2 ex-members of Parliament. Shailendra Dubey, Chairman All India Power Engineers Federation f  (AIPEF), briefed the MPs on the adverse impact of the proposed bill on poor consumers, farmers, electricity employees and the common public. NCCOEEE Convener Sudip Datta gave a detailed powerpoint presentation against Electricity (Amendment) (EA) Bill.

All the members of parliament openly opposed the electricity bill 2025 and assured that they  will strongly oppose the bill when it is presented in the parliament.They all said that the bill is against common consumers , farmers, and only for big  corporations who will earn without any investment at the cost of state Discoms.

V K Gupta informed that the political parties participated in convention were Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M),  Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP),  Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS),Communist Party of India (CPI),  Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK),and  Indian National Congress (INC).

P Rathnakar Rao secretary general AIPEF concluded the seminar   with an appeal to strongly oppose EA Bill. AIPEF and other Federations of power employees across the country will continue to raise awareness among the public and intensify the struggle against this anti-people legislation.
