Stubble Burning: Notice issued to DSP, SHO and 3 Cluster Officers

Taking serious notice of wheat stubble found burning in the certain area of the district due to dereliction of duty by the concerned officials, Deputy Commissioner Barnala Harpreet Singh IAS has issued notices to DSP and SHO and 3 cluster officers.

Deputy Commissioner visited villages Dhillwan and Maur Nabha today along with SSP Barnala Md. Sarfaraz Alam. During the inspection conducted in the villages, fire incidents were found in the different areas.

Giving the information here today Deputy Commissioner stated that to prevent stubble burning, 40 Clusters, Assistant Clusters and 254 Nodal Officers have been appointed. FIRs, Chllaan are also being issued in the cases of stubble burning, he added.

Deputy Commissioner warned that no negligence and dereliction of duty shall be tolerated at any point of time. He called upon the government officers and employees to work diligently towards ensuring that not a single farm fire incidence happens in coming days.

He called upon farmers to adopt ecofriendly methods of stubble management instead of falling for short term measures like putting stubble on fire.
