DC Patiala reviews progress of works, direct officials to pay attention towards village development, work with full dedication

Patiala Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has directed all Block Development and Panchayat Officers (BDPOs) of the district to work with complete dedication and responsibility for the transformation of villages and the development of basic infrastructure. Dr. Aggarwal was chairing a meeting at the District Administrative Complex to review the progress of development works being carried out by various departments.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, will ensure that there is no shortage of funds for the development of villages and cities. Stressing special attention towards village development, road construction, anganwadis and sports grounds, he directed officials to simultaneously prepare and submit utilisation certificates for the funds released for development works in a timely manner so that the pace of development projects is not affected.
Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal also directed officials to ensure maximum benefit of the 28 rural libraries established in the district reaches students and village residents. He informed that 191 Chief Minister Sports Grounds are being developed in the district at an estimated cost of around Rs 60 crore, out of which nearly one and a half dozen grounds have already been dedicated to the youth.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of roads, sewerage systems, water supply schemes and other infrastructure projects. He directed the concerned officials to ensure that all projects are completed within the stipulated timeline and warned that any laxity would not be tolerated.
On this occasion, Dr. Aggarwal also conducted a detailed review of pending utilisation certificates and ongoing projects related to the Punjab Nirman Programme, Smart Village Scheme, MPLAD and other development schemes.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Damanjit Singh Mann, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Manreet Rana, Deputy ESA Jaswinder Kaur, Deputy CEO Zila Parishad Amandeep Kaur, District Rural Development and Panchayat Officer Mahinderjit Singh, along with officials from the Public Works Department and other departments, were also present during the meeting.
