Complaint filed by electricity consumers in Haryana redressed on priority- Power Minister

Haryana Power, New and Renewable Energy, Jails Minister Ranjit Singh said that in last one month, there has been a significant decrease in the time taken for redressal of complaints filed by the electricity consumers.  He said that in Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, the complaint redressal time has been reduced from 3.47 hours to 2.49 hours and in Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam the time has reduced from 3.38 hours to 3.22 hours.

Ranjit Singh said that in the coming two months, the officers have been directed that the grievance redressal time of consumers should be reduced to to less than two hours. He said that 15 days time was given to fix loose electrical wires and broken electrify poles. He said that it is a matter of great satisfaction that more than 50 percent work has been completed on this and he himself is monitoring this work. He said that the consumers’ interest is supreme and concrete steps are being taken to resolve their problems.

The Power Minister said that earlier the complaints of the people used to complain that their complaints regarding the power cuts at night used to go unheard, while monitoring was done in this regard and now the redressal has improved.

He said that public opinion is being sought in relation to electricity bills and most consumers have demanded that the bill be sent every month. In this regard, a decision will be taken in the public interest by talking to the Chief Minister  Manohar Lal and after thorough consideration.

The minister said that the arrangements in the prisons of the State will be revamped soon and special attention will be paid to the improvement of various facilities in the jails. In view of this, soon a delegation from Haryana will visit the jails of Chennai and Karnataka and on the lines of the facilities being provided there, more and more improvement will be done in the State jails.
