Today shiromani akali dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal announces its party second candidate for the upcoming 2022 assembly elections.

“Virsa Singh Valtoha is the SAD candidate from Khemkaran assembly seat,” Sukhbir announced from a rally at Khemkaran

Sukhbir Badal also asked its party cadre to remain united and fight the upcoming elections , unitedly. He was saying this, as a rift in the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has come to the fore with former minister and Sukhbir Singh Badal brother-in-law,  Adesh Partap Singh Kairon announcing his support for a family member in Khemkaran constituency, the turf of SAD leader Virsa Singh Valtoha, in the 2022 assembly elections in Punjab, a few days ago.

During his address at one of the meetings, Sukhbir Singh Badal brother-in-law,  Adesh Partap Singh Kairon had said that voters of Khemkaran have been asking him to serve in the area and he couldn’t ignore their request. “After discussing with my family, I’ve accepted the people’s decision. A member of our family will serve you. Though we will all serve you, but the candidate will be from our family,” Kairon said.

Political analyst said, ” by announcing Virsa Singh Valtoha ,a former member of the Punjab Legislative Assembly who represented Khem Karan, a former Chief spokesperson of Shiromani Akali Dal , who had  also served as district president of the party, candidature from a rally, the party president has clipped his brother-in-law Adesh Partap Singh Karion’s wing, as he is going active in this assembly seat.”

Yesterday, ahead of the next year’s assembly polls in Punjab, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal formally blew the poll bugle and announced his own candidature from the Jalalabad seat.
