Mayor Patiala gets another relief from court

Today the advocates of Punjab government have once again cleared and that mayor Patiala Sanjeev Sharma Bittu has not been suspended and they demanded more time to clear the air, in the Punjab and Haryana high court.
On November 25, 2021 after the general house meeting Punjab local bodies minister Brahm Mohindra informed the media that the mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu has been suspended as he fails to clear the floor test. In that floor test mayor Sanjeev Sharma got 25 votes and the opposite group gets 36 votes.
The proceedings of the general house convened by mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu was signed by the senior deputy mayor Yoginder Singh Yogi. On this issue mayor knocked the Punjab and Haryana high court door. The court fixed today’s date for hearing.
Today on hearing his plea in the court, the state government advocates demanded ten days time and the court granted ten days to the state government.
Earlier, on last Wednesday after a hearing of his plea over his stated ‘suspension’ from mayorship (as per MC General House proceedings) in the Punjab and Haryana high court, he joined his office in the municipal corporation,Patiala. The state government in the court today stated he had not been suspended. The next date of hearing was fixed for today- December 6.
