98 students of Central University of Punjab outshine in GATE 2023 Exam Result

While setting high benchmarks in various competitive exams, around 98 students of the Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB), a university accredited with an A+ grade by NAAC, have cracked the GATE 2023 Exam Result with good ranks. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination that primarily tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering, science, commerce and the arts for admission into the Master’s programme, for pursuing research under projects sponsored by GOI agencies, and for recruitment by some Public Sector Companies.

According to the CUPB Competitive Examinations Cell, as many as 98 students from 12 different departments at the Central University of Punjab have qualified for the GATE 2023 exam results announced in March 2023. A maximum of 24 students from the Dept. of Zoology qualified for the GATE 2023 examination. After this, 12 students from the Department of Human Genetics and Molecular Medicine, 11 students from the Department of Microbiology, 10 students from the Department of Botany, 9 students from the Department of Physics, and 8 students each from the Department of English and the Department of Geology have cleared the GATE 2023 Exam. Other departments whose students qualified for GATE 2023 include the Department of Biochemistry (7 students), the Department of Chemistry (5 students), the Department of Environment Science and Technology (2 students), and one student each from the Department of Computer Science and Technology and the Department of Pharmacology.

98 students of Central University of Punjab outshine in GATE 2023 Exam Result. On this occasion, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari congratulated students for bringing laurels to the university. He stated that it is a moment of immense pride for us that such a large number of students have qualified for the GATE 2023 examinations. He lauded the efforts of faculty members, under whose guidance CUPB students have accomplished this milestone.

By qualifying the GATE exam, the students will get opportunities to get scholarships to pursue higher education from premier institutions, as a qualified GATE score can be used for seeking admission and/or financial assistance to Master’s programs and direct doctoral programmes in relevant branches of arts and science in the institutions supported by the MoE, especially the IITs, and other government agencies. Further, the above students will also have the opportunity to apply for key positions in PSUs, as companies like ONGC, NEPC Limited, GAIL India Limited, etc. consider the GATE score in their recruitment process.
