Punjabi University engages Industry Experts for its students for imparting practical knowledge related to IT industry demands

Under the ambit of MoU between Punjabi University Patiala and BlueAves E-Health Services Pvt. Ltd., Department of Computer Science is using its services actively in the form of internships to students, organizing workshops on latest industry concepts, expert talks, placements, collaboration for product development that are marketable like plagiarism detection tool for Indian Languages, Automatic prediction of NAAC grade by Universities and Colleges, various mobile phone apps for differently abled persons and so on. Continuing this nobel task, Department of Computer Sc recently organized 3-hour workshop for the M.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Data Science 3rd Semester and MCA 3rd Semester students for preparing them for their placements by making them gain about technical skills which are highly demand in industry. About 60 students attended this hands-on-experience workshop. Such workshops will help the students in opening their own start-ups, becoming entrepreneurs, getting placements in IT companies and so on.
Mr. Majid Bashir, AI Solution Architect, BlueAves E-Health Services Pvt. Ltd was the expert for conducting this workshop. During the workshop, students were given hands on training sessions on the topics like Flask, JSON, MiniAPI, RESTful API, Docker, MongoDB etc. Students were very satisfied after attending this workshop and demanded for the conduct of such workshops regularly for them.
Prof. Sukhjit K. Ranade , Head of the Department, Department of Computer Science told that their faculty members always provide practical knowledge to the students which are beneficial for their placements. Department has very good computer lab infrastructure with latest configuration PCs and GPUs. Department is always keen in doing collaborations with industries for imparting students knowledge about latest in industry. Even department alumni that are well placed in industries used to interact with the department students’ time to time through various channels.
