Malerkotla police arrests land grabber; SSP urged citizens to promptly report cheating or land grab incidents

Cracking down on land-related fraud, Malerkotla Police has made a key arrest in an alleged cheating case worth Rs 1.05 crores of brazen cheating and forgery of land documents.

The arrested accused has been identified as Balwinder Singh of Jagowal village.

Divulging more details to the press media, the Senior Superintendent of Police Malerkotla, Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh said that acting on a cheating complaint filed by Tarsem Singh of Jattuan village, the alert team led by SHO Amargarh Inderjit Singh under the supervision of DSP Amargarh Jatin Bansal apprehended accused Balwinder Singh of Jagowal village for purportedly usurping 12 bighas of land from complainant Tarsem Singh of Jattuan village.

The accused flagrantly ignored multiple notices under procedure and dodged questioning, exposing his dishonest intents. The accused has been booked under Section 420 of the IPC at Police Station Amargarh, Malerkotla.

The arrested accused will be produced in the local court and his remand will be taken to further investigate the matter at hand. This marks the third arrest of fraudsters in a month, earlier the police team had unearthed police and railway job fraudsters who swindled Rs 12 and 9 lakhs rupees from job aspirants.
