Annual Prize Distribution Function organized at Government College of Education Sector 20 D, Chandigarh

Annual Prize Distribution Function was successfully organised at Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, Chandigarh . Around 177 prizes, 1 roll of honor, 35 college colors and merit certificates to the winners and for special contribution to various committees of the college were distributed among the achievers of current batches of 2023-24.

The event started with the College anthem and formal welcome of the Chief Guest  Akhil Kumar, DANICS, Additional Secretary Personnel and Health and Director AYUSH, Chandigarh Administration by the Principal Dr. Sapna Nanda. College magazine “The Educational Observer” session 2023-24, “Newsletter of NSS” volume 1 issue 2 and “The Tinker Times” issue 5 were released by the Chief Guest on the occasion.  Akhil Kumar while addressing the students appreciated the college for providing a substantial platform to students for professing their academic and co-curricular skills. He said guru deserves the first right and to get the honour as he affectionately teaches to know god by giving knowledge therefore the importance of Guru is more than God. He also highlighted the essence of education and emphasized that intrinsic motivation helps to translate ideas into convictions and hone the skills, which sow seeds of taking initiative in life situations. Positive and dedicated teaching provides excellence to life goals, he said.

A short cultural programme preceded Prize Distribution. Students shared their reflections about their stay in the college and expressed that this day was of great significance for them as on this day they would be the proud recipients of the much awaited rewards of hard work, dedication and commitment shown by them throughout the session. Various cultural programs were presented by students as such as medley, dance and songs etc. Also, the Aahar Kranti Club of the college organized an exhibition of millet based items, which was highly appreciated by the Chief Guest of the day. The program was structured under the guidance of the Principal of the college by Cultural Committee Incharges Dr. Balwinder Kaur and Dr. Aarti Bhatt with Prize distribution Committee incharges Dr. Meena and Dr. Upasna Thapliyal.
