In a significant step towards enhancing maternal and child healthcare, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bathinda has successfully installed three baby feeding kiosks in both the OPD and IPD areas. This initiative aligns with the Government of India’s ‘MAA’ (Mothers’ Absolute Affection) program, which aims to empower mothers and provide a comfortable and private space for breastfeeding.

The newly installed baby feeding kiosks are designed to offer a welcoming environment where mothers can nourish their infants with dignity and privacy. This initiative is not just a physical addition to the institute but a commitment to supporting mothers in their breastfeeding journey, recognizing the importance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of both mothers and children.

“Today marks a small yet significant contribution to ensuring better maternal and child healthcare at our institution.” Executive Director Dr. D.K. Singh, Dean Dr. Akhilesh Pathak, and MS Dr. Rajiv Kumar are expressing gratitude for the collective effort that made this project possible. “Together, we continue to strengthen the well-being of mothers and infants in AIIMS Bathinda.”

Implementing these kiosks reflects a broader commitment to facilitating breastfeeding in public healthcare settings and promoting maternal health and infant nutrition. The initiative is expected to encourage more mothers to engage in breastfeeding, which is crucial for infants’ healthy growth and development. AIIMS Bathinda remains dedicated to supporting maternal and child health initiatives and invites the community to embrace the resources available for mothers and their children. Introducing the baby feeding kiosks is just one of many steps to foster a supportive environment for mothers in the Malwa region.
