UN Day- several district administrations in Punjab ignores MHA orders

Union home ministry had issued an order on October 7,2024 to all the chief secretaries, administrators all state governments/ UT administrators , central government ministries etc to flow United Nation (UN) Flag along with the Indian National Flag on all buildings on which the Indian National Flag is regularly flown on October 24,2024.

But, when the News Portal royalpatiala.in checks randomly, it was found that many of the district administrative complexes have not flown the UN Flag along with the National Flag on their buildings.

But, UN Flag along with Indian National Flag was flown on the rooftop of district administrative complex, Rupnagar (Ropar).

royalpatiala.in team found that no UN Flag was flown along with Indian National Flag at the district administrative complex of Sangrur, Bathinda, Patiala.

When contacted deputy commissioner Sangrur, Sandeep Rishi, he said”I’ll check and take corrective measure. I’ll fix the responsibility for not following the MHA instructions.”

When contacted the deputy commissioner Bathinda, Showkat Ahmed Parray, he said “ I haven’t seen it. I’ll check it whose, which department responsibility is to do this job.”

Meanwhile deputy commissioner Patiala Preeti Yadav didn’t take a call and messaged that “she is in a video conference meeting and call back shortly but didn’t call back.”

As per ministry of home affairs (MHA) orders issued by deputy secretary, home ministry,  Govt of India, “ on this day , the United Nations Flag is flown along with the Indian National Flag on all buildings, on which the National Flag is regularly flown in the states/ Union Territories. The United Nations Flag is, however NOT flown on Raj Bhawans/ Raj Niwases and buildings housing Legislative and High courts.’

Every year 24th October is observed as the United Nations Day. On this day, the United Nations Flag is flown along with the National Flag on all buildings on which the Indian National Flag is regularly flown.

Also, the United Nations Flag is not flown on Rashtrapati Bhawan, Vice-President’s House, Parliament House and Supreme Court building.
