All unsung real heroes must get their due share of respect, appreciation-Jasguneet

Isn’t it fun being home, surrounded by your family, trying hands-on new delicacies, relaxing and chilling playing Ludo and catching up with the ones, who were part of our favorite memories? It surely is. But have we ever thought that not every one of us is sailing in the same boat?
Quickly climb up your stairs and reach your terrace. What do you see? A clear blue sky and a daunting silence. Right? But wait. Don’t miss the sight of Police Officer patrolling your area or the health worker engrossed fully telling people the precautions to be taken and that hardworking sanitation worker cleaning the streets for you. Aren’t they the real warriors and saviours of mankind?
While we sit back in our comfy couches, sipping in the “dalgona coffee” they are the ones standing in the front row and fighting the deadly virus. And what they are getting in return is, chopped hands or a bag full of stones, pellets and abuses. Do we realize that they too have a family waiting for their safe return and yearning for a day when all of them can sit and have a meal together? The real challenge is not fighting back the corona virus but the virus in the minds of the people.
Why just a simple thing of social distancing has become rocket science for all of us? The recent incidences have made it clear that we are good just for clapping our hands and lighting lamps. And the purpose behind it fails to bother us. It’s high time that the real heroes get their due share of respect and appreciation.
