Alumni Donates Rs 3 Lakh for Furnishing MRSPTU Central Library Reading Hall; inaugurated for students

The much-awaited inauguration of the newly furnished Reading Hall on the ground floor of the Central Library at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) , Bathinda took place on Friday.
The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Kansal, Vice Chancellor, MRSPTU, Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar, Registrar, MRSPTU, and Er. Karan Kansal, Director of Mahashakti Energy Limited, Bathinda.
The hall has been generously furnished by MRSPTU’s proud alumnus, Er. Karan Kansal, a B.Tech. Electrical Engineering graduate from GZSCET Bathinda (Batch 2000-2004). Er. Kansal contributed ₹3,00,000 for this noble cause.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Sandeep Kansal emphasized the importance of libraries as the backbone of any academic institution. He shared his vision of making MRSPTU a hub of academic excellence with state-of-the-art facilities. The newly furnished hall, which has a seating capacity of 102, is a step in this direction.
Er. Karan Kansal expressed his gratitude towards the university for shaping his career and stated that it was his privilege to give back to the institution. “This campus made me the entrepreneur I am today. I am always available and dedicated to supporting its students and faculty,” he said. He also stressed the need to keep the reading hall open 24×7 to facilitate uninterrupted learning for students.
Dr. Gurinderpal Singh Brar, Registrar, announced a significant contribution of his own, pledging to sponsor a lecture hall in the memory of his late mother, Harpal Kaur Brar.
Dr. Iqbal Singh Brar, Chief Librarian, extended his heartfelt thanks to Er. Karan Kansal for his generosity and commitment to the betterment of the campus.
