SI son promoted as inspector for father’s deed by DGP Punjab

The Ex-DGP of Punjab police S. Chattopadhyaya has ordered the promotion of a son of AIG Punjab police heading special investigation team (SIT) against SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia in drug case.
Sub-inspector Princepreet Singh son of assistant inspector general (AIG) Balraj Singh was promoted as an inspector (local rank) with ex- DGP S.Chattopadhyaya signing these orders on December 27,2021.
Princepreet Singh who is posted as sub-inspector in Fatehgarh Sahib police district , got a local rank- a temporary promotion which is given for six months by the DGP by exercising special powers vested to him under the Police Act.
The officiating DGP of Punjab S Chattopadhyaya had made assistant inspector general (AIG) crime Balraj Singh, the SIT head, on December 22, a day after the First Information Report (FIR) against Majithia was registered on December 21. The surprise picking of a low profile PPS officer by the than DGP S.Chattopadhyaya as the SIT head had also come as a shocking news for many.
