In a latest development, I.N.D.I.A partner parties Congress, Aam Admi Party (AAP) has issued a whip to its MPs asking them to be present in the Upper House on Monday, as the Delhi services bill is to be taken up in Rajya Sabha. The rajya sabha MPs of Congress are asked remain present in the Upper House till its adjournment on Monday.

As per news agency PTI, Jairam Ramesh, the Congress’ chief whip in the Upper House, issued the three-lined whip on August 4, saying that “very important issues will be taken up for discussion in Rajya Sabha on Monday i.e. August 7, 2023”.

“All members of Congress Party in Rajya Sabha are requested to kindly remain present in the House from 11 am onwards till the adjournment of the House on Monday, August 7, 2023, without fail and support the party stand,” the chief whip said.

As per available information, Aam Aadmi Party have also issued whip to their MPs to be present in the Rajya Sabha on Monday as the Delhi services bill will be tabled there. “This may be treated as MOST IMPORTANT”, said the whip issued by AAP’s chief whip Sushil Gupta.

Having being cleared by the Lok Sabha last week following a walkout by the Opposition parties, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be presenting the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023, before the Rajya Sabha tomorrow. The Bill replaces the ordinance on control of services in the national capital.
