Devotional commencement of three days of Shaheedi Jod Mel at Mata Gujri College

Ceremonies dedicated to the incomparable martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh Ji and Mata Gujri Ji were started with deep devotion at Mata Gujri College under the leadership of Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh. Highlighting various aspects of Sikh history, Dr. Kashmir Singh said that the main objective of these events is to spread awareness among the young generation about the rich Sikh heritage and religious culture so that they could be guided by the martyrs to connect with their glorious heritage. He further added that such a great sacrifice can not be seen or heard anywhere in the history of the world. It is therefore our duty to encourage our children to engage in Sikh history, Sikh doctrines and Sikh ideology.
On this occasion 200 units of blood were donated during the blood donation camp organized by the NSS unit of the college. Similarly, the Youth Red Cross Unit organized a first aid camp and the Fine Arts Department of the College organized a special ‘Rang-e-Musawar’ art exhibition. Apart from this the college specially arranged around 2000 beds for the pilgrims coming from far and wide, free bus service for the passengers and also langar has been arranged.
On this occasion Dr. Ramanjit Kaur, Principal, Guru Hargobind Sahib Khalsa Girls College, Karhali Sahib released the special issue of Lab Journal ‘Fateh’ dedicated to the Shaheed Jod Mel published by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of the College. More than 500 students of the college participated in various events of Shaheedi Sabha.
