Dr. Vishal Goyal outshines as Person of the Week by NLDI

Dr. Vishal Goyal, Professor, Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University Patiala outshines as ‘Person of the Week’ as announced by National Digital Library of India (NDLI). Giving this information Prof Goyal told that he got an email regarding this announcement by Nanda Gopal Chattopadhyay, Chief Technical Officer, National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Project, Central Library Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Kharagpur 721302.
While giving information about it,Prof. Vishal told that during the lockdown period when teaching fraternity was busy in Online teaching and e-content was being developed worldwide, NDLI had sent a letter to Punjabi University, Patiala to use e-resources available on their website and should share the e-contents developed by the faculty members for global reach. Then e-contents prepared by Prof. Vishal Goyal was submitted to NDLI which was evaluated by the experts and hence approved for inclusion in NDLI repository.
Now NDLI has honoured him by announcing him ‘Person of the Week’ which is a matter of proud for the University too. The Name, Photo, details of Prof. Vishal will keep displaying on the home page as Person of Week. Prof. B.S. Ghuman, Vice-Chancellor, while congratulating him, said that it is matter of joy for the university as Prof. Vishal has been playing a key role in adopting online teaching method during COVID-19 during the lockdown when Punjabi University Patiala had suddenly shifted towards online mode, Prof. Vishal Goyal has played vital role. He is also coordinator of the committee for e-learning implementation team for managing Online Teaching, conducting online events and more.
