GIEAIA delegation of class 1,3 &4 met GoI’s DFS dept. Secy, Joint Secy; urged to expedite pending burning issues of PSGICs

Today a General insurance Employees All India Association (GIEAIA) Delegation of Class 1,3 and 4, comprising of Comrade Trilok Singh, Comrade Darshan Wadhwa, Comrade Satish Jindal, Comrade Anita Khanna and Comrade Anuradha Dwivedi met Nagaraju Maddirala, Secretary department of financial services (DFS) and Prashant Goyal, Joint Secretary DFS, Govt of India and discussed the genuine pending issues with them.
“The delegation discussed “Wage Revision issue pending since 1st August 2022. Secretary DFS acknowledged the issue and said that it is in our utmost priority list and is under our active consideration. GIEAIA Delegation requested the DFS Officials to expedite settlement of WR and also urged for parity with LIC in all the Public Sector General Insurance Companies (PSGICs), GIC Re and Agriculture Insurance” said Trilok singh, General Secretary, GIEAIA Class III & IV.
The delegation also discussed “Improvement in Family Pension to a uniform rate of 30 percent. Secretary DFS was very positive on this issue and acknowledged our concern for its immediate implementation” added Trilok Singh.
“On Employer’s Contribution to NPS@14 percent, Secretary DFS assured us to look into the issue. On another key point of ‘Adequate Recruitment’ we reiterated our demand for adequate recruitment in all cadres and to recruit Skilled Marketing Forces immediately. Secretary DFS was very positive on the issue and informed that DFS has already given autonomy to all Companies to make recruitments as per their needs looking at their financial positions” said Darshan Kumar Wadhwa, Secretary General, GIEAIA Class- 1 Wing
“On another burning issue of Merger of all PSGICs and to form Single Monolithic Corporation, Secretary, DFS appreciated our concern on formation of One Company and assured us to look into the matter” added Trilok Singh.
The GIEAIA Delegation presented him a Book on a “Single Monolithic Corporation” published by GIEAIA long back for which he admired GIEAIA and said that he is really happy that such an idea had been evolved by a Trade Union long back which has become the need of the hour in present scenario.
“On our request for giving recognition to GIEAIA, Secretary, DFS assured us to look into it as per prescribed norms. On Strengthening of PSGICs, Secretary, DFS appreciated our concern and assured us to take remedial steps and sought our cooperation in this regard, which we did. On “Irrational Closure and Merger of Offices” Secretary. DFS listened to our concern on this agenda carefully. He acknowledged and appreciated our concern for the irrational Closure and Merger of Offices especially because of scarcity of the manpower. He also acknowledged our suggestions to open new offices in unrepresented areas to make general insurance reach to every citizen of the country in every nook and corner. Secretary DFS assured us to speak to all concerned in this regard” further disclosed Trilok singh.
“On our demand ‘To form Regulatory Authority on Hospitals’ Secretary, DFS while seriously acknowledging the issue assured to take appropriate steps in this regard in consultation with the Ministry of Health Officials” added Wadhwa.
In the end GIEAIA Delegation appreciated the approach of Secretary DFS for his interacting with Unions and Associations and requested him to maintain the same spirit in the days ahead.
“The meeting with the Secretary, DFS and Joint Secretary, DFS was constructive, fruitful and we hope the PSGIC workforce shall be achieving their legitimate demands in the near future” said Trilok Singh.
