IIT Ropar organises corporate connect event

IIT Ropar‘s Career Development and Placement Cell (CDPC) organized the highly anticipated Corporate Connect Event. The event attracted over 300 students from IIT Ropar and featured HR professionals from renowned companies like Revolut, Rubrik, and Pattern.

The opening ceremony was graced by the director of the Institute, Prof. Rajeev Ahuja, who gave a welcome speech. He highlighted the importance of synergy between industries and research in academic institutions and emphasized that IIT Ropar was a younger institute that should not be classified according to generations. He also shared his perspective that Indian students tend to work harder than their foreign counterparts.

The event was designed to provide students with an opportunity to network and interact with industry experts while gaining insights into industry work culture, the latest trends, and the skills and qualities required by potential candidates. To achieve this goal, the event featured three engaging panel discussions and a workshop on Careers in Scale Up by Nilesh Biniwale, Managing Director- India Operations at Pattern.

The first panel discussion centered on preparing the next generation of technical workers. The panelists emphasized the expectations of the industry from academic institutions and student communities. The discussion highlighted the importance of equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen fields.

The third panel discussion was about the transition from campus life to professional life. The panelists shared their experiences and offered advice on how to navigate this challenging transition period. They provided practical tips on how to succeed in the professional world, such as developing a strong work ethic and building a robust professional network.

The Event was a tremendous success, providing students with a valuable opportunity to connect with industry professionals and gain insights into the latest industry trends and developments. The event achieved its goal of helping students prepare for their future careers and empowering them to excel in their chosen fields.
