Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences -Bhaddal holds an expert talk

Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences -Bhaddal , constituent college of IET Bhaddal,hosted an expert talk on “Recent Updates on Development of Pharmaceutical Products: Discovery Perspectives of Drug Transporters”.
Dr. Priyanka Chanana , Business Development Director (Discovery), Solvo Biotechnology( A Charles River Company) Massachusetts , United States was the keynote speaker of the event.
The purpose of the event was to offer a common platform for Pharmacy Students and pharmacist to exchange knowledge about Challenges and Opportunities for the development of Pharmaceutical products.
Explaining the details, Dr. Priyanka Chanana said, “During the last decades, drug transporters have been identified as important determinants of the pharmacokinetics. She explained in details on drug approvals process, focusing on investigational new drug application processes. Additionally, the role of drug transporters towards new drug approvals was also discussed.
She also walked through the capabilities of her organization Charles River Labs and how they are playing a major role as a CRO in drug development process for major Pharmaceutical companies in the USA.
On this event , Dr. Jitender Singh-Principal, Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Bhaddal said “Students are encouraged to talk and offer their ideas to create a collaborative atmosphere where both teachers and students are sources of knowledge and insight” . Students get depth knowledge from such expert talk events, he added.
On this occasion, Campus Director S.S.Bindra exhorted the budding Pharmacists to play key role in total healthcare system to provide better services to the needy and also stressed the importance of new opportunities in pharmacy field.
