Bathinda– The Executive Engineer of Punjab Pollution Control Board Paramjit Singh today conducted a meeting with the Municipal Commissioner Bathinda Dr Rishi Pal for promoting the use of biodegradable bags in the city. The Municipal Corporation Bathinda,Commissioner Dr Rishi Pal issued the new compostable and biodegradable bags made from starch of potato and corn that are aimed are wiping of plastic pollution and giving people healthier alternative to plastic.
Dr Rishi Pal Commissioner Municipal Corporation Bathinda called upon the shopkeepers of Bathinda city to start using these bags and called upon people to raise demand for the compostable bags that save environment. He also called upon people to use cloth bags so that even the recyclable bags are not put into use and precious nature is saved.He further said that these bags are eco friendly bags and are good and safe for our environment. As Punjab Government has already banned the use of Polythene bags, so its mandatory to use these eco friendly carry bags.
