National Legal Services Day celebrated in Rupnagar

The benefit of free legal services must be made accessible to maximum number of people, for which maximum awareness about free legal services is necessary. Keeping this aspect in mind, awareness seminars regarding legal services are being conducted till November 13 under a special campaign in the villages of the district. Civil Judge Senior Division-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Rupnagar Ashish Kumar Bansal shared these views while addressing a function organized in the auditorium of Shiwalik Public School, Rupnagar on the occasion of National Legal Services Day. Additional District and Sessions Judge. Sanjay Agnihotri specially attended the function.
Every year the day is celebrated to mark the commencement of the Legal Services Authority Act 1987, which came into force in 1995. Under this, various efforts are made to make people more aware about legal services.
On this occasion, Ashish Kumar Bansal gave information about the importance of National Legal Services Day and appealed to the students to become more aware about these services and also to make more people aware. On this occasion, the students took out an awareness rally from the school to Ambedkar Chowk and also made a pattern of toll free number 1968 of the Legal Services Authority and showed it. Anyone in need can avail legal services using this number.
During the event, the students of different schools, who had won positions by participating in various competitions on the topics of social injustices, were also felicitated.
