Occupational Therapy Centre now at Deaf & Blind School

Society for welfare of the Handicapped (Regd.) Patiala, which is managing Patiala School for the Deaf, Patiala School for the Blind, Patiala School for the Deaf blind, established a occupational therapy centre in its school premises which was inaugurated by Member Parliament Dr. Dharmvira Gandhi.

The Gymnasium in the occupational therapy centre has been donated by Dr. Gandhi under the MPLAD scheme.  Occupational Therapy is a technique used for students/children with multiple disabilities. Children with multiple disabilities are physically weak and thus not capable of doing the daily chores by themselves. Their actions and movements are incoherent and the muscles etc. need to be developed so that they can carry out their daily living skills.

Dr. Gandhi appreciated the efforts being put in by the Society for the cause of these children and impressed with the layout of the Schools for the academic, stay, hostels, boarding/lodging and food arrangements for these special children in particular. Dr. Gandhi assured to extend all help to the Society to meet the needs of the Schools.

Dr. B.S. Sohal, Dr. Ravi Bhushan, Col. Karminder Singh, Pawan Goyal, R.C. Narang, K.S. Shergill, Jagjeet Sareen, S.K. Kochar, Amarvir Singh, Manvinder Singh, Renu Singla were present from the Society side to welcome the Chief guest and other guests.
