“Dr OPS Kande- was an epitome of dedication and comradrie.IMA in general and Patiala in particular will always miss him .He will always stay in memories friend, philosopher and guide, left for heavenly abode on 16th Jan 2021 in Medanta Gurugram Hospital, fighting post COVID complications “ said Dr Neeraj Goyal, President IMA, Patiala.

“He was a torch bearer in anaesthesia and started critical care management way back in sixties and seventies . He was also popularly known as Father of treating poisoning cases in the entire region of Patiala.  For young budding clinicians, surgeons and anaesthetists .. He was just a phone call away. He use to guide and tutor doctors of various fields till his last day” said Dr Ajata Shatru Kapoor

“He was a  great visionary and true IMA patron , totally committed to its cause. No doubt he handled National level responsibility with  exemplary leadership ,  People up to this date emulate and often cite his references at crucial moments” said Dr Harsimran Singh Tuli, vice president of IMA Patiala.

IMA  AWARDED THE Posthumous Lifetime achievement award to Dr OPS Kande at PIMACON 2020 at Jalandhar ON 16/01/2021 for his unmatched contribution to growth of IMA and medical fraternity as a whole.

May God grant rest and peace to noble soul and family to with stand this irrevocable loss.IMA stands with the family in this hour of profound grief and sorrow .
