PCS Mains 2026 dates intact, roll numbers soon: PPSC Chairman

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has confirmed that the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) Mains Examination 2026 will be conducted as per the pre-decided schedule, dismissing concerns about a possible postponement.

Chairman Maj General Vinayak Saini,VSM,SM (Retd.) stated that the commission is fully prepared to hold the exams on time. “As of now, the exams will take place according to the schedule already shared with candidates who have qualified the preliminary stage. Roll numbers will be issued in the coming days,” he said.

According to the official plan, the PCS Mains exams will be held from April 1 to April 10, 2026. The examination will be conducted in offline mode at designated centres. It will consist of seven descriptive papers and is a crucial stage in the selection process for PCS (Executive) and allied services.

While there have been apprehensions about a possible delay due to ongoing legal issues, the commission has made it clear that no such decision has been taken so far, and preparations are proceeding as scheduled.

Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) had announced the result of PCS preliminary exams on January 10,2026 of recruitment to 331 posts to be filled through Punjab state civil services combined competitive (preliminary) examination-2025.

As per norms 13 times of the vacancies are called for the mains examination and s total 4238 candidates are going to appear in the mains examination.
