Poets & scholars must raise their voices against those who divide in the name of religion: Patar

The Punjab Arts Council organized an online Trilingual National Kavi Darbar dedicated to the 400th Parkash Purb of the ninth Guru Sri Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Nine prominent poets recited their poems and songs during the Kavi Darbar in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu languages. Renowned Punjabi poet and Chairman of Punjab Arts Council Dr. Surjit Patar inaugurated the event.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Patar said that the significance of teachings, sacrifice and incomparable martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji has increased even more in the present era when the existence of many religions is threatened by divisions in the name of religion. He said that some politicians were spreading hatred in the name of religion for their petty political interests.

Dr. Patar said that Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji  known as ‘Hind Di Chadar’ sacrificed his life to save all religions and downtrodden people. He called upon poets and scholars to raise their voices against hatred which is being spread in the name of religion to divide people and spread the message of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji to respect all religions. He also recited his poem ‘Jiss tegh de ghat guru utre, uss ton khoon nahi sukda’ on the occasion.

Punjabi Scholar Ninder Ghungianvi introduced the participant poets who recited poems and songs on the life, teachings and sacrifice of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur ji. Mehak Bharti started the programme with the beautiful song “Daya Dharam Sach Di Pehchan Ho Gaya, Guru Tegh Guru Dharam Se Kurban Ho Gaya”, Dr. Ravinder Batala presented the poem ‘Fikre di Takat’, Urdu Poet Dr. Rubina Shabnam performed “Kya Mubarak Thi Ghari Tera Hua Janam”.  Dr. Sudarshan Gasso, Kashish Hoshiarpuri, Prof. Jagmohan Singh Uday, Jaspreet Kaur Falak from Delhi, Dr. Vanita and Nadeem Ahmed from Malerkotla also presented their poems on Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. Ninder Ghugianvi presented the immortal song of Yamla Jatt ‘Tegh De Dulare Wah Wah Wah Terian Kahanian.
