PSEB Engineers Association (PSEBEA) strongly condemns the arrest of Er Shailendra Dubey Chairman All India Power Engineers Federation and other leaders in UP today.
The suppressive actions of the U.P Govt against UP electricity employees and engineers who are fighting against Privatisation of Purvanchal DISCOM are unfortunate. PSEBEA stands in solidarity with the engineers of UP against this draconian action.
On the other hand in a press release issued by “National Coordination Committee of Electricity Employees & Engineers (NCCOEEE), univocally applauded the brave struggling spirit and unity of Electricity Employees and Engineers of UP at the behest of Vidyut Karmachari Sanjukta Sangharsh Samity, UP to oppose frantic electricity privatisation move on the part of the UP Government. NCCOEEE noted with grave concern that Leaders and members of all 18 constituents of Sangharsh Samity are being threatened by the management quoting penal provisions of various repressive, colonial and shameful Acts and Rules of a democratic country. NCCOEEE resolved to convey its UP electricity employee brothers and sisters that they are neither alone nor isolated. If UP Government tries to enforce any threatened penal measure, 3 million electricity employees and engineers of India will not remain as silent spectator. Consequence of UP atrocities related to privatisation of PUVVNL will be extended all over the country.”
NCCOEEE fully endorsed the steadily intensifying plan of action in UP from month long wider protest throughout the state, partial work boycott from 29th September to total work boycott from 5th October, 2020. Neither the management nor the Government has opened the dialogue. This obstinacy is severely criticised by NCCOEEE; reticence of the Govt. transpires the commitment of the Government of UP as well India to their profit greedy cronies aspiring to enter electricity distribution network developed all over the country at the cost of public exchequer throughout 7 decades since independence of the country. Electricity employees and engineers, who are part and parcel of billion patriotic citizens of India, will not allow the Government to transfer the pride asset of our people as charity to their allies like Adani-Ambani and others.
NCCOEEE noted with grave concern and severely criticized the role of the central government towards travesty of democracy in the ensuing session of the parliament to enact 3 Agriculture and Labour code Bills keeping opposition in Rajya sabha secluded by the mercenaries simply to ease of doing business at the cost of hunger of people and rights of the workers.
NCCOEEE decided, if UP Government forces Vidyut Karmachari Sangharsh Samity, UP to enter into the phase of complete work boycott from 5th October, NCCOEEE constituents all over the country will demonstrate in front of their respective work place in solidarity with UP. In this UP Solidarity Day all NCCOEEE constituent Federations along with its state and district units will send memorandum to the Chief Minister of UP, the Prime Minister and the Chief Ministers of all the states to put hold upon enactment of Electricity (Amendment) Bill, 2020, all unilateral steps prescribed by the Ministry of Power through Standard Bidding Document (SBD) for privatisation.
NCCOEEE and its constituents will write letters to all Chief Ministers requesting not to go ahead as per SBD in their states as per directions of GOI. This document is in contravention of concurrent status of electricity in the constitution of India. We should mention that, if state Government proceeds with provisions of SBD then the vehement protests will be started in the State concerned by the State Chapters of NCCOEEE.
NCCOEEE is a broad based united platform of all the national federations of Electricity Employees & Engineers is serving the nation for two decades last. A virtual meeting of NCCOEEE National Chapter took place on 27th September, 2020. Almost all the constituents took part in the meeting. Shailendra Dubey presided over the meeting.
