PSEB ordered its School to Display Board at Entry Gate

Punjab School Education Board has directed all its Affiliated / Associated /Adarsh Schools to put a Display Board outside the School Entry gate.

The Board ordered this after receiving High Court orders in a CWP No. 22527 of 2017 titled Sehgal V/s Union of India others. As per the court orders” All School in the State of Punjab will Display Boards outside the School mentioning about the rights of the differently abled students in terms of the provisions of the 2016 Act and the persons to be contacted in case of any difficulty is faced by them along with his/ her mobile number. The needful shall be done within two weeks”.

As per the sample of the Display Board, to be displayed at the Entry Gate of the School, it must mention that the School is bound the give an admission and free education to differently abled children without discriminating. It must also mention the that the school will provide the helping material as free of cost and also organise special classes for them.

The School will teach the Blind and Deaf students in their language. Any School having its own transport will make special arrangements for the transportation of these special students. The School will make provision with Special Toilet and Special Drinking Water facilities for these special children. Any special children who want to participate in extracurricular activities and sports, the school will provide all the facilities.

These Special Students who were studying in Punjab School Education Board Affiliated schools will get 15 minutes extra for attempting their exams. If anybody faces any problem they can contact the person whose name with the designation, contact number and email id mentioned in the Display board.
