Punjab CM to call upon water resources department officers; department’s restructuring is in agenda

Punjab chief minister is going to meet the officers of water resources department on July 21, 2022 at 12:00 noon at his official residence, at Chandigarh.
As per available information, the chief minister is going to discuss overall status of canal irrigation in state with the officers. He is also going to check the status of Shahpur Kandi project, flood protection works carried out by the department.
The chief minister will also discuss about the restructuring of the department, status of lining work of Rajasthan and Sirhind canal. Along with these major issues, the chief minister will also go through the important project/ works/ issues, short, medium, long timelines project.
In this meeting, chief secretary, additional chief secretary-cum-financial commissioner, revenue and principal secretary, water resources department will participate.
Now a day’s chief minister is meeting with various department heads and personally reviewing them. On July 18, he met the PWD (B&R) officers and asked the officers of the Public Works Department (PWD) to expedite work on all ongoing projects in the state along with initiating and completing the other ones for giving major boost to the infra structural development.
