After the February 20 polls, Punjab will see another round of by-elections in the state.

Punjab assembly polls are schedule for February 20,2022. In these elections -Bhagwant Mann (AAP),Charanjit Singh Channi (Congress), Sukhbir Singh Badal (SAD) are the chief minister face of their parties. BJP-PLC-SAD (S) alliance has not announced their chief minister face, as they are fighting their elections under brand ‘Modi’.

Former chief minister and Punjab Lok Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh is fighting his last political battle from Patiala (urban). He had already announced that he will merge his party into the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in future, after the polls.

Speculations are rife that after the polls, Cat Amarinder Singh will leave the seat (if he won it) and get some gubernatorial post in centre, courtesy NDA government. In that case Patiala (urban) will see a by-election in near future.

Punjab to face by-elections in CM’s constituencies after February 20 polls. In these elections chief minister Charanjit Singh Channi is fighting on two seats-Chamkaur Sahib and Bhadaur.

Aam aadmi party chief minister candidate, who is member parliament from Sangrur, is fighting from Dhri assembly seat.

Shiromani akali dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal is contesting elections from Jalalabad assembly seat. Presently he is a member parliament from Ferozepur . He is a chief minister candidate from shiromani akali dal.

Bikramjit Singh Majithia, SAD leader is contesting from Amritsar (East) seat.

Now, if Charanjit Singh Channi won both the seats, for which he is confident, than he has to leave one seat either Chamkaur Sahib or Bhadaur and that seat will see by-election.

If AAP won the election and forms the government than Bhagwant Mann will have to vacate his parliamentary seat and Sangrur will see a by-elections.

Similar is the case with Sukhbir Singh Badal. If shiromani akali dal won the election and forms the government than Sukhbir Singh Badal is going the vacate his parliamentary seat and Ferozepur will see a by-elections.

If Navjot Singh Sidhu won the Amritsar (east) seat by defeating BikramJit Singh Majithia and Ganieve Majithia wife of Bikramjit Singh Majithia won the Majithia seat than another by-election will be held at Majithia as Ganieve Majithia will vacate the Majthia assembly seat for her husband Bikramjit Singh Majithia so that he can go to the Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
