Rayat-Bahra International School celebrated its first Annual Sports Meet with great zeal and enthusiasm at the school premises. Sports are part and parcel of Student’s lives. They help students to discover their hidden talents and qualities help them to interact with different persons and make them learn many things outside their own environment.

Kumar Amit, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala, was the Chief Guest of the event. Campus Director, Dr Piush Verma welcomed Kumar Amit. A bouquet was presented to him by the students.

The chief guest who declared the Sports Meet open applauded the efforts of the school in arranging such an event in the arena of sports and providing a platform for all round development of students.

Kumar Amit said in his address while speaking on the importance of sports that desire to participate in any sport is the important factor in the success of an athlete. He also said that sports are known for producing the most remarkable athletes, colourful characters, influential leaders and memorable heroes in the world.

The students from Class KG to Class VI participated in the sports meet with great fervour. The meet commenced with the unfurling of group flag and a march past which entailed the field show wherein students exhibited a perfect blend of colour, rhythm, endurance, agility and self-discipline in different sports activities.

The students participated in various activities like Back Race, Ball Race, Hopping Race, Spoon and Lemon Race and for higher classes 400 meters, 200 meters and 50 meters. The parents also participated in some races. Harleen Kaur, class VI and Kanwarveer Singh, class V were declared the best athletes. The Blue House was given the trophy for the best house. Kumar Amit presented Medals and merit certificates to the winners. Principal Simrit Khatra presented a memento to Kumar Amit. The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Principal Simrit Khatra. Tea & refreshments were served.
