Rupnagar police bust gang of mobile snatchers, five held

Rupnagar City Police claimed to have bused a gang of mobile phone snatchers by arresting 5 accused in this regard.
Rupnagar City SHO Inspector Pawan Kumar informed that on October 20, 2022 IPC during the investigation of the case registered under section 379-B,148,149 IPC , the accused Ravinder Kumar alias Tony son of Suresh Kumar, resident of House No. 1-C, near Shivalik School, Officer Colony Rupnagar, Parminder Singh alias Bindi son of Balvir Singh, resident of house number 4483, Haveli Kalan, Rupnagar, Karanvir Singh alias Karan son of Gurmukh Singh, resident of Gurdaspura falling under Sadar police station Rupnagar were arrested.
He said that on questioning the said accused confessed that they had carried out the incidents of snatching expensive phones in Bela Chowk Rupnagar, Bypass Rupnagar, College Road Rupnagar, Ghanaulii, Nawanshahr, Kurali area by riding on Bullet motorcycle. The accused had confessed that snatched they had sold the snatched phones to Satnam Singh son of Surjit Singh, resident of Rail Majra, falling under Kathgarh Police Station of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district and Nikhil Kumar son of Bahadur Singh, resident of House No. 2512, Phool Chakkar Mohalla, Rupnagar,who have been also named as accused in the case and have been arrested.
He said that 11 expensive mobile phones were snatched by the accused from different places , out of which 9 mobile phones and one bullet motorcycle have been recovered so far. The accused were produced in court by the police ,which has obtained their one-day police remand.More revelations are expected,he said.
