School of Law and Interdisciplinary Studies, JGND Punjab State Open University observed Ambedkar’s 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas

The School of Law and Interdisciplinary Studies, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala observed 69th Mahaparinirvan Diwas on December 06, 2025 to commemorate the death anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr.Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the Chief Architect of the Indian Constitution.
Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, Vice-Chancellor, JGND PSOU, said, “Mahaparinirvan Diwas of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar,honors his legacy, emphasizing his transformative impact on social reform, justice, and equality.” Prof. (Dr.) Emanual Nahar, Panjab University, Chandigarh elaborated on Dr. Ambedkar’s contribution for upliftment of Dalits, empowerment of women, and laborers. Prof Nahar said, “Dr Ambedkar dedicated his life to eradicating caste-based discrimination and ensuring social equality. His advocacy extended to dismantling systemic barriers and empowering the marginalized.”
Prof. (Dr.) Ajit Chahal, Department of Law, Kurukshetra University, highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s affirmative action for the marginalized groups through policies in education, employment, and politics to address injustice. He also spoke about the writings of Dr Ambedkar. Dr. Amitoj Singh, Associate Dean Academic Affairs extended vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Dr. Pinky Sra. Students, Research Scholars, Faculty from various institutes attended the event.
