Stubble burning-Vans flagged off to create awareness
Two awareness vans were flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, Patiala Kumar Amit to create awareness against stubble burning among farmers. These two vans affixed with banners and audio system for spreading awareness regarding zero burning of crop residue in the region were arranged by Patiala Regional Office of Punjab Pollution Control Board. These Vans would make the people of District Patiala aware regarding harmful effects of burning of wheat residue,” the DC said.
He added, “The campaign started from Patiala will cover the entire villages of the district.” “It is the need of the hour to create awareness among farmers to completely eliminate stubble burning in the district, the DC said. Er. S.S. Matharu, Environmental Engineer, Patiala Regional Office of PPCB, Er. Rajiv Gupta, Assistant Environmental Engineer and Er. Mohit Bisht was also present on the occasion.
