Will thoroughly inspect every aspect of environment, health-DC
Barnala-Deputy Commissioner Barnala Dharam Pal Gupta, said that the district administration will thoroughly inspect each and every aspect related with environment and health of citizens under ‘Tandrust Punjab’ mission. He added that various departments which are directly associated with the mission will also make the residents aware of the various beneficial factors and ill effects of pollution and adulterated food products on their health. He was presiding over the monthly review meeting here at meeting hall of the district administration complex.
Deputy Commissioner said that ‘Tandrust Punjab’ mission has been started by Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government to provide better living conditions with pollution free environment. DC added that under the mission, several departments have been allotted several assignments and to achieve the set targets, concerned officials have been asked to prepare monthly plans.
Gupta said that local health department has been directed to conduct special checking drives to stop food adulteration and sale of medical drugs. He also issued directions to health department officials to properly implement the guidelines of Punjab government to curb the menace of drugs from the society.
DC also urged local residents to supply information of miscreants who are involved in corrupt practices like food adulteration and drug suppliers to administrative and police officials for the proper implementation of objectives of the mission. He also directed agriculture department to intensify checking drives to deal with the problem of fake pesticides and poor quality fertilizers.
