Yuva Sangam phase-3 programme organised at IIT Ropar

The third edition of Yuva Sangam, a flagship program initiated by the Government of India to foster cultural sensitivity among students, has come to a successful close. As part of this program, a group of 50 students from Karnataka embarked on a week-long journey to Punjab, hosted by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar as a nodal center. During their stay, the students explored the rich heritage, history, and vibrant culture of the state through various cultural and educational activities. The closing ceremony of Yuva Sangam Phase 3 was held today at IIT Ropar.
The event was graced by Dr. Dinesh Siddaiah, Registrar, IIT Ropar, as the chief guest. He highlighted the significance of this program in fostering a sense of national pride and unity among students from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Siddaiah also touched upon the importance of preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural heritage and how Yuva Sangam is contributing to this cause. Following this, Prof Nagaveni from IIT Dharwad shared her experience of participating in the program. She emphasized on the unique learning opportunities that Yuva Sangam provides to students, such as exposure to different cultures, traditions, and languages. Professor Nagaveni revealed her thrilling travel itinerary that comprised visits to Punjab: Ropar, Amritsar, and Anandpur Sahib, as well as an opportunity to meet the Governor of Punjab and attend a vibrant cultural program organized by IIT Ropar.
As part of the closing ceremony, certificates and souvenirs were presented to the students as a token of appreciation for their active involvement in the program.
