The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CU Punjab), continues to raise the bar in academic excellence, research innovation, and holistic development—steadily advancing towards the realization of Viksit Bharat, envisioned by  Prime Minister  Narendra Modi. In a proud moment for the university, CU Punjab has secured the 7th position in the “Central Universities (Overall)” category in the IIRF Top Universities in India 2025 Rankings, marking a notable improvement from its 9th rank in 2024.

This remarkable achievement has been made possible under the visionary guidance of  Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education, and the dynamic leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, whose commitment to academic rigour, inclusive growth, and institutional excellence continues to elevate the university’s national standing.

With this achievement, CU Punjab has consistently ranked among the top 10 Central Universities in the IIRF rankings for the third consecutive year, reaffirming its growing reputation in India’s higher education landscape.

The Indian Institutional Ranking Framework (IIRF), published by Education Post since 2012 and mentored by the Federation for World Academics, ranks over 1,000 institutions across India, including universities, engineering and management colleges, law and design schools, and undergraduate programs like BBA and BCA.

In the recently released Top Universities in India 2025 Rankings, the IIRF ranked Universities across the country on seven parameters i.e. Placement Performance; Teaching Learning Resources & Pedagogy; Research; Industry Income & Integration; Placement Strategies & Support; Future Orientation; and External Perception & International Outlook. CU Punjab scored an impressive 986.8 out of 1000 points, up from last year’s score of 980.35, reflecting marked progress across key performance indicators.
