PPSC may defer PCS-2025 exam amid Punjab flood crisis: final decision next week

“Keeping in view the present flood situation in Punjab, we will take a decision on conducting or postponing the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination-2025 by next week,” said Major General Vinayak Saini, SM, VSM (Retd), Chairman of the Punjab Public Service Commission.
Maj Gen Saini further added, “As many parts of Punjab are affected by floods, many job aspirants are struggling to cope with the situation. They are not getting enough time to prepare for the exams. We want to ensure fairness for everyone who is preparing, so that no candidate is at a disadvantage.”
He also stated, “However, many aspirants have been preparing for these exams for several years, and further postponement may not be well received by them. I assure them that the PPSC is committed to conducting the announced examinations—whether now or after a delay. We will take a final decision after carefully considering all aspects.”

At present the commission has only a chairman and all the member posts are vacant. On this, the chairman said that “ the Punjab government authorities has informed me that two member will be joining soon. ”
ABOUT PCS EXAMS:
As per schedule, Punjab Public Service Commission had announced to conduct the Preliminary examinations of Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination-2025 on Sunday, 26th Oct -2025 for 322 posts.
On January 3,2025, on the last working day of the former commission’s chairman, Jatinder Singh Aulakh the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) had issued the long-awaited notification for the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination-2025 (PSCSCCE-2025) for 322 posts.
The commission has received around 85,000 applications for the 322 advertised post.
