Rural Action Lab Promotes Climate Smart Agriculture in Fatehgarh Sahib

Bahadurjeet Singh/royalpatiala.in News/ Fatehgarh Sahib, September 29,2025    Rural Action Lab, through its project Climate Smart Agriculture, is driving the adoption of sustainable farming practices across Fatehgarh Sahib district. The initiative includes village-level meetings (VLMs) and Farmer field schools (FFSs) aimed at equipping farmers with knowledge and practical skills for climate resilient agriculture.

To showcase innovation, the organization has established demonstration plots on Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) and Direct Seeded Rice (DSR). These climate-smart methods are helping farmers reduce water usage, cut input costs, and improve soil health while minimizing environmental impacts. The practices directly contribute to protecting soil, water, and air quality, ensuring long-term agricultural sustainability.

Highlighting the mission, Yuvraj, field officer of Rural Action Lab said: “Through Climate Smart Agriculture, we are committed to empowering farmers with sustainable solutions that enhance productivity, safeguard natural resources, and strengthen climate resilience.”

Rural Action Lab remains dedicated to expanding its outreach and scaling up sustainable practices to benefit more farming communities in Punjab.
