Patient with rare disorder of ruptured Sinus of Valsalva of the heart saved by doctors at Govt Rajindra Hospital

Young 37 year’s old male came to Govt Rajindra Hospital, Patiala in a critical condition on non invasive ventilator. He was immediately diagnosed as case of a rare disorder of ruptured Sinus of Valsalva of the heart. This condition invariably causes death within hours if not treated urgently.
This intervention is only available at Government Medical college Patiala Department of Cardiology.
Imedialtely patient was taken up in Cath lab for device closure of ruptured sinus resulting in dramatic improvement in patient’s condition.
The entire treatment including procedure was done free of cost at the institute as told by Dr R P S Sibia, Director Principal.
The patient is being discharged today after making complete recovery. Medical Superintendent Dr Vishal Chopra informed that Cardiology department is running smoothly under Dr Saurabh Sharma since 2021 and has provided timely interventional treatment to more than 3000 patients since inception.
