With all preparations in place and gardeners putting the final touches to the displays, Panjab University is all set to host the 15th Rose Festival at the Prof R C Paul Rose Garden on the campus.

The three-day festival, to be inaugurated on Friday (February 6), will feature over 110 varieties of roses, including 12 newly introduced and rare varieties, spread across the 2.5-acre garden maintained by the Horticulture Division. The garden has been extensively spruced up, with flower beds and hedges carefully redesigned to enhance the visual appeal.

A flower competition will be held on the opening day, followed by a cultural evening by the Department of Music. The second day will feature competitions such as rangoli, painting, dancing, slogan writing and creative mehndi, with a cultural programme by the Department of Youth Welfare in the evening.

On the final day, events including Rose Prince and Princess, collage making, face painting and fancy dress will be organised, followed by the crowning ceremony. A fashion competition by the University Institute of Fashion Technology and Vocational Development will be held in the evening.
