JGND Punjab State Open University Achieves Prestigious 12B Status

Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University (JGND PSOU), Patiala has achieved a historic milestone by being granted recognition under Section 12B of the UGC Act, 1956.
In his address to the university community, Prof. (Dr.) Rattan Singh, Vice Chancellor, JGND PSOU, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the faculty, officers, and staff. He emphasized that this prestigious status is a testament to the collective dedication, sincere efforts, and unwavering commitment of the entire university team. With the attainment of 12B status, JGND PSOU is now eligible for central assistance and various UGC grants, further strengthening its mission to provide quality, accessible education across the region, he added.
Dr Rattan Singh said that the granting of 12B status reaffirms the university’s commitment to meeting the highest standards of higher education and its role as a leader in open and distance learning in Punjab.
On this occasion, Director, CIQA Dr. Kuldeep Walia, Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Amitoj Singh, Registrar Dr. Baljeet Singh Khehra, Director, Public Relations Dr. Sukhdev Singh along with other officers and staff members of the university, celebrated and cherished this historic moment together.
