Bathinda lad Padamjeet Singh brought laurels; becomes first Indian president of UWSU London

Padamjeet singh Mehta, a youth of Bathinda city has created a history of sorts by becoming the first Indian president of UWSU, London (University of Westminster Student union London U.K.) on 21 February 2020
The election for the post of president witnessed a fierce battle among five candidates belonging to different natives and faiths including the candidate from the native community.
Padamjeet, who is 21, has also created another record by winning the post of president with the highest ever margin in the history of their elections and he managed to make this worthy achievement within two years after he descended upon England, The founder of imperialism. He went to England in the year 2017 to acquire bachelor degree in BBA Marketing.
Padamjeet who has done schooling from Bishop Cotton School, Shimla and Saint Xavier Convent School, Bathinda, has also done excellent in Boxing sports as he remained school games champion for three years at Bishop Cotton School Shimla.
Padamjeet’s father Amarjit Singh Mehta is a renowned social worker of Bathinda region, Padamjeet is also the General Secretary of Indian National Student Association, London, which is one of the prestigious organization of all Indian students in England.
Padamjeet, who belongs to well known business family of Bathinda, has managed to make it by carrying out aggressive campaign in the election and giving a vision document, which would cater to the needs of about 22500 students of that university.
Feeling elated over this achievement, the senior functionaries of Punjab government including Deputy Commissioner Bathinda B.Srinivasan and SSP Bathind Dr.Nanak Singh congratulated his parents and declared that he would be given rousing reception whenever he would next visit the city.
During the elections proceedings, he got huge moral support from his friends, class mates, course mates and other student groups of different education institutes and it was the main reason that today an Indian is president of UWSU London.
On this achievement Padamjeet said he is happy that he has been able to bring victory has brought laurels to his mother land/India. He added that he would work to the entire satisfaction of the student community and ensure that choice of electing an Indian as president stands vindicated.
