On CM’s appeal Medical Dental Doctors counter appeal to CM to accept their genuine demands

In response to the appeal made by Chief Minister Punjab Capt. Amrinder Singh to the employees throughout the state to call off their strike, Punjab State Medical and Dental Teachers Association (PSMDTA) has made the counter appeal to the chief minister to accept all genuine demands of the government doctors without any delay in public interest and restore the health and medical services so that sufferings of the poor and needy patients can come to an end.
Meanwhile the indefinite daily deferring of medical and other services in medical and dental colleges and Rajindra Hospital Patiala entered the sixth day today with department wise sit in protest of ten faculty members daily along with action committee members for three hours with complete closure OPD services and elective surgeries in Rajindra Hospital, boycott of all administrative duties and class room teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of the medical students.
According to Dr. DS Bhullar, State General Secretary of PSMDTA the state wide protest of medical and dental teachers along with all other government doctors will continue till our demands are not accepted in total which include restoration of NPA to 25 percent and linking it with basic pay as earlier with Dearness and House Rent allowances made applicable to basic pay and NPA.
The government doctors have decided to organize a massive rally on July 29 (Thursday) in Government Medical College Patiala with participation of faculty of medical and dental college, PCMS doctors of Patiala, resident doctors of medical college, doctors from Chest and TB Hospital Patiala, members of Indian Medical Association Patiala and medical and dental students along with some very senior retired PCMS doctors and medical teachers. The rally will be followed by protest march up to Polo Ground in Patiala keeping in view the weathers conditions, said Dr. Bhullar.

The PSMDTA leadership including State Acting President Dr. Vijay Bodal, Dr. Darshanjit Singh Walia, Dr. Navjot Singh Khurana, Dr. Harjit Chawla, Dr. Preetinder Singh Chahal and other leaders have jointly appealed to the participants of the protest rally to strictly follow the Covid guidelines during the protest.
