Today, Punjab government has again appointed Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS as DIG, Anti Gangster Task Force member in addition to DIG Ropar range.

Yesterday, Punjab government has issue the transfer orders of Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS as DIG Ropar range from newly formed DIG Anti Gangster Task force. He was transferred as DIG Ropar range around, within a week’s timing, after he was transferred as DIG Anti Gangster Task Force, a dream force of chief minister Bhagwant Mann, who wants to wipe out gangster’s network operating across the state so as to create a sense of security amongst the citizens.

royalpatiala.in highlighted the sudden transfer of Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, IPS from DIG Anti Gangster Task Force to DIG Ropar range, within one week, as he is one of the most influential officer of Punjab police. He remained as district police chief, CP, DIG for around two decades and has made many good relations.

“With today’s order, Punjab government has once again proved that government is more powerful than any influential officer” said a senior journalist.

With his yesterday transfer from AGTF to Ropar Range, only three members -ADGP Promod Ban , AIG Gurmeet Singh Chauhan, DSP Bikramjit Singh Brar were remained as AGTF members to handle anti gangster task force. But with today’s order of re-appointment of Gurpreet Singh Bhullar as DIG, the four member team constituted by CM is complete now.

In a bid to wipe out gangster’s network operating across the state so as to create a sense of security amongst the citizens, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday, April 5 directed DGP Punjab VK Bhawra to establish a full-fledged Anti- Gangster Task Force (AGTF) headed by ADGP rank officer.

On April 7,2022 Punjab government posted ADGP Special Crimes & Economic Offences Wing Promod Ban as ADGP of Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF), AIG Organised Crime Control Unit (OCCU) Gurmeet Singh Chauhan as AIG AGTF and CP Ludhiana Gurpreet Singh Bhullar as DIG AGTF besides DSP Kharar Bikramjit Singh Brar has been given additional charge of DSP AGTF.

“Showing zero tolerance towards gangsterism, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on April 8,2022 asked the Anti Gangster Task Force (AGTF) to stamp out gangsters from the state in order to repose people’s full faith and confidence in the law and order machinery.
