Rupnagar police arrests accused of looting Rs.3 lakh from employee

Rupnagar Police have arrested 5 accused who robbed Rs. 3 lakh at Morinda, few days ago.
While addressing a press conference at his office, S.S.P. Rupnagar Vivek Sheel Soni said that on March 21, 2023, Gautam Wadhwa, an employee of Resident Cash Management Services Private Limited, Sector 35-D Chandigarh, complained at Police Station City Morinda that he was going on his motorcycle number P.B. 12 AD 3727 to deposit Rs. 3,13,887 in Canara bank. When he reached near to Olympic Palace, unidentified youths surrounded his motorcycle on the way and attacked him and took all the cash from him. After that they moved towards Verka Point, Morinda.
SSP further disclosed that considering the seriousness of the matter, under the supervision of S.P. Sub Division Morinda Dr. Navneet Singh Mahal, a thorough investigation of the incident was started by the police party including Inspector Police Station City Morinda Gursevak Singh. During investigation, with the help of people and CCTV footage, accused Manveer Singh alias Mani, Jagpal Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Karamjit Singh alias Honey and Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh were arrested on April 06, 2023.
Vivek Sheel Soni said that case under section 379-B, 120-B, 395, 323 IPC at Police Station City Morinda was registered against unidentified persons who were involved in the robbery.
He said that Rs. 53,000 from looted amount and sharp edged weapons with motorcycles were recovered from them. Case is under investigation and many other important revelations will be expected from the accused.
