Mata Gujri College rules the stage; wins the Overall Championship trophy of the Inter-Zonal Youth and Folk Festival

Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib won the Overall Championship Trophy in the Inter-Zonal Youth and Folk Festival of Session 2023-24 organised by the Punjabi University Patiala after competing with the 278 colleges. It is worth mentioning that earlier Mata Gujri College won the overall first position in the regional youth and folk festival of Ropar-Fatehgarh Sahib zone after winning over the 58 colleges.

SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami congratulated the Secretary of the Management Committee of the College Jagdeep Singh Cheema, Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh, staff and students and proudly said that Mata Gujri College, the premier higher education institution of North India has attained a remarkable achievement.

College Governing Body Secretary Jagdeep Singh Cheema expressed his happiness and said that the students of Mata Gujri College have made an outstanding achievements in studies, sports and cultural activities. He congratulated the winning students and their parents and appreciated the contribution of the Principal, staff and coaches of the college.

Director Principal Dr. Kashmir Singh while expressing his happiness said that this great achievement has been attained due to the benevolent leadership, constant patronage and immense support of the President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jathedar Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and the Secretary of the College Governing body Jagdeep Singh Cheema. He lauded the tireless efforts of the college staff, coaching staff and students.

Vice Principal Dr. Bikramjit Singh congratulated the staff and students and stated that by participating in such cultural events, the artistic and creative talent along with the spirit of mutual cooperation and understanding flourishes among the students. Dean of the College Cultural Affairs Dr. Harminder Singh expressed his happiness and said that during the 55 different competitions organized in this four-day youth festival, the college succeeded in winning the overall trophy of Fine Arts, apart from winning the first position in the Kaweeshri, Sugam Sangeet, Basket Making, Innu Making, Photography, Non-Percussion and Collage Making competitions; second position in Folk Orchestra, Group Shabad, Classical Music, Cultural Quiz, Guddiyaan Patoley, Paranda Making, Folk Dance Girls Sammi, Western Singing Solo, Waar Gaayan, Nukkad Naatak, Clay Modeling; and third position in the Malwai Giddha Boys, Classical Dance, Western Instrumental Solo and Western Group Singing competitions.
