AIBOC Celebrates its 38th Foundation Day- Bank Officers urged to stop Non Personal Communication on whatsapp

The Punjab State unit of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC), the apex organisation of bank officers in the country having more than 3.5 lacs Bank Officers as its members celebrated its 38th Foundation Day with Tree Plantation Drive and Flag hoisting at Patiala today. As many as 500 Tree saplings were planted on different locations starting from SST Nagar, Patiala. The flag of AIBOC was also hoisted by its State unit.

 In a statement issued by Secretary of AIBOC Punjab Rajiv Sirhindi told that AIBOC has already launched a country vide movement ‘Bank Bachao Desh Bachao’ and a series of programs have been held to fight against Privatisation of Public Sector Banks in India.

Sirhindi told media persons that in a meeting of AIBOC Punjab it has been urged upon that all ‘Non personal Communications’ from Management of Banks with its employees on social media platform whatsapp be stopped immediately. He told that whatsapp platform is being used for non-personal communication with its employees by all the Banks. Many a time, confidential as well as business performance data is also shared by the Management of the banks with its employees and vise versa. He said that the WhatsApp is a private messaging platform originally built to help people message their friends and loved ones. But over a period of time, it has been observed that this platform is being misused by almost all the Banks in India to communicate with their employees and using whatsapp for Non-Personal Use.

Speaking on the occasion, the President of AIBOC Punjab Satish Kumar said that an email from Bank Officers is being sent to the CEO of whatsapp India requesting him to arrange to stop Non personal communication on whatsapp by management of Banks. He said that the official messages on whatsapp is ruining the personal lives of Bank officers as the Management of Banks are sending messages day and night for business growth and asking for various business data on whatsapp platform. He said that it is gross violation of ‘Terms of services’ of whatsapp and a strict legal as well as technical action is solicited from whatsapp India. .

The leaders of Bank Officers told that a ‘Bank Bachao Desh Bachao’ will also be conducted before the winter session of Parliament to stop privatisation opf Public Sector Banks. A social media campaign against privatisation is already going on across country under the banner of AIBOC.
